BOARD PIPELINE INITIATIVEThe Board Pipeline Initiative (BPI) prepares professionals to serve confidently and effectively on nonprofit boards and committees. Through a focused five-week experience, participants build a strong foundation in governance, finance, fundraising, and board culture while connecting with nonprofit partners looking for engaged community leaders. WHO SHOULD JOINBPI is designed for professionals interested in serving on nonprofit boards or committees who want a clearer understanding of board governance, expectations, responsibilities, and impact. Participants build the knowledge, relationships, and confidence to take the next step toward meaningful board or committee service. Participation in BPI is offered at no cost, thanks to support from AmeriCorps. Because the program is cohort-based, participants are expected to attend all sessions in their selected cohort in order to graduate. INTERESTED IN JOINING A COHORT?Our 2026 Board Pipeline Initiative cohorts have concluded. Information about 2027 cohorts, including dates and registration details, will be available in December 2026. Stay tuned for 2027 BPI opportunities.
NONPROFIT PARTNERSIs your nonprofit looking to connect with prepared board and committee leaders? BPI partners with nonprofit organizations committed to building strong, representative boards and leadership pipelines. Participating nonprofits connect with professionals who are preparing for board and committee service while increasing awareness of their organization and leadership needs. WHAT NONPROFIT PARTICIPATION INCLUDESNonprofit partners engage with BPI participants through two structured touchpoints designed to create meaningful connections. Week 4: Nonprofit Introductions Participating nonprofits introduce their organization to BPI participants and share their mission, impact areas, governance structure, and current board or committee needs. Organizations can highlight the skills, experiences, and perspectives they are seeking while beginning to build relationships with potential board and committee members. Week 5: Graduation and Board Connections Nonprofit partners are invited to participate in BPI's in-person graduation celebration, where they can connect directly with graduates, discuss board and committee opportunities, and continue building relationships that may lead to future service.
2027 OPPORTUNITIES COMING SOONWhether you're a professional interested in board service or a nonprofit looking to connect with future board and committee leaders, check back in December for 2027 Board Pipeline Initiative opportunities.
