Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for an undergraduate scholarship, you must:
  • Be of at least 50% Hispanic heritage
  • Be a resident of the state of Wisconsin
  • Be pursing an undergraduate degree at a 4-year accredited university
  • Have at least sophomore standing
  • Be enrolled in at least 12 credits for the Fall 2017 semester
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale or equivalent
  • Attend the HPGM Annual Meeting on August 25, 2017 (if awarded scholarship)
  • HPGM scholarships are available for tuition purposes only and do not apply for books, living expenses etc.

General Criteria
Applicants must submit the following in order to be considered for a scholarship:

1. Undergraduate transcript
An official, sealed transcript from your current undergraduate institution. All transcripts must include a cumulative GPA. If your transcript does not show a cumulative GPA, you must provide a signed, official confirmation on your GPA equivalent on college/university letterhead.

2. Two letters of recommendation
The letter must be from an employer or instructor. It must be submitted in a sealed envelope.

3. Online application, which includes:

5. Photo (jpg) & Brief Bio
Your photo should be professional in nature. No selfies or vacation photos.

6. Community Service History
You must include contact information for all service activities.

7. Two essays

2-3 pages each

Additional Criteria

In order to focus our efforts on student retention and graduation, all scholarships are tiered.

For example:

If a Junior receives a $10,000 scholarship, he/she will receive $5,000 in the Fall of 2017 and $5,000 in the Fall of 2018.

If a Senior receives a scholarship, the amount will be split over his/her last two semesters.

In order to receive the entire scholarship amount, students must:

  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits for each semester
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale
  • Attend or volunteer for a minimum of two HPGM events each semester
  • Be an active member of their university's HPGM student chapter

 

Applicants will be evaluated on the above criteria, along with their commitment to the HPGM mission. The deadline to submit all application materials is June 16, 2017.
